Exhibition Gallery
The exhibition gallery combines a chronological history of aviation at Tocumwal with engaging imagery that draws you in and connects you with the time, people and place in a way that words simply can’t.
The gallery combines written history and imagery with selected artefacts and memorabilia that add a personal dimension from those that served at RAAF Station Tocumwal during the war.
Display Hangar
The display hangar contains a rotating selection of historic and vintage aircraft which have relevance to Tocumwal’s aviation past or present.
The display hangar also contains a 1/4 scale model of a B-24 Liberator of the type operated by Number 7 Operational Training Unit. While it’s only a model, its size and scale gives some perspective of the full size aircraft.
Bob Brown Theatre
The Bob Brown Theatre is a 27 seat cinema named in honour of a man who has dedicated 25 years of his life to collecting and preserving personal stories and memorabilia related to Tocumwal’s wartime history.
The cinema will feature a series of historic films and news clips related to Tocumwal dating back to 1930.
We will also be offering unique Gold Class movie nights combined with The ‘Drome Cafe providing drinks and nibbles while you sit back and relax the movie.
Memorial Hall
The Memorial Hall pays tribute to the 18 service personnel who lost their lives while serving at Tocumwal during World War 2 whose remains are interred in the Commonwealth War Graves section of the Tocumwal Cemetery.
The ‘Drome
Located within the Tocumwal Aviation Museum, The ‘Drome offers a small range of toasted sandwiches and turkish bread rolls, cold and hot beverages and house made slices. We are not a full service cafe, our aim is to provide a simple offering for visitors of the museum..
